This document provides brief info about the most significant changes and improvements of SeekFast over the years in the respective versions of the program.

Version 5.2 - September 2024

  • Support for searching words containing a period was added.
  • An option to delete the list of recent folders was added.
  • A problem with resizing the program at a display scale other than 100% was fixed.

Version 5.1 - August 2024

  • Support for .epub files was added.
  • Support for all commonly used audio and video files was added.
  • The "Include subfolders" option was added, allowing you to choose whether to search only the root folder or all of its subfolders as well.
  • New design of the program icon and toolbar.
  • Various keyboard shortcuts were added to make the program more straightforward to use.

Version 4.13 - February 2024

  • Support for Excel Spreadsheet files that support macros (XLSM) files was developed.
  • Support for subtitle files (TMX, SRT, VTT, DFXP) was added.

Version 4.11 - November 2023

  • Support for Corel WordPerfect (WPD) files was added.
  • Support for AHK, XSL, LUA, DAT, BAT, COM, VBS, PS1, LINQ, INO, LDT, and IES files was added.
  • The functionality to export the results to a CSV file was developed.
  • The ability to import search terms from a text file was added.
  • Increased the maximum number of files to search to 1,000,000.
  • Increased the maximum size of any files to search to 1 GB.

Version 4.7 - June 2022

  • Support for OpenDocument Spreadsheet (ODS) files was added.
  • Search support for searching in footnotes in MS Word documents was developed.
  • Support for email files (EML and MSG) was added.
  • Support for searching any of the words was developed, allowing you to find all sentences containing at least one of the search words.

Version 4.5 - April 2022

  • A system to save texts from already read folders for faster reloading was developed.
  • The functionality to search in filenames was added.
  • A drop-down box to choose from already-read folders was added for faster loading.
  • The "Log file names" option to enable logging of the path to each file read was added.
  • The ability to open the folder by clicking on it in the search results was added.
  • "Options," "Help," and "License" buttons were added to the toolbar.
  • A "Launch" checkbox was added at the last step of installing the program.

Version 4.2 - April 2021

  • Support for INI and ADOC files was added.
  • Support for Microsoft Word macro-enabled document (DOCM) files was developed.
  • An option to sort results by filename was added.
  • Added support for searching Excel sheet names.

Version 4.1 - June 2021

  • Added support for macOS.
  • Increased the maximum size of any files to search to 100 MB.

Version 2.1 - August 2013

  • Added support for:

  • Added support for searching for an exact phrase.
  • Increased the maximum size of PDF files to search to 16 MB.
  • Increased the maximum size of any files to search to 50 MB.
  • Increased the maximum number of files to search to 7,000.

Version 1.3 - January 2013

  • Increased the maximum number of files to search to 5,000.

Version 1.1 - July 2008

  • Supported document types: Word documents (DOC), PDF files, Rich Text Format (RTF), and various types of text files (TXT, XML, PHP, JAVA, JSP, C, CPP, and others).
  • The maximum number of files to search is 2,000 in the Full version.
  • The maximum size of PDF files to search is 3 MB.
  • The maximum size of any files to search is 10 MB.
